Storytelling has always been an important and meaningful form of communication. As a storytelling medium, comics use juxtaposed images in an intentional sequence to convey their message in an impactful, visual way. In this fun and engaging 4-session Lab, we will lead you step-by-step through the creative process of creating comics – from making characters, to structuring them into a story, to working through more technical aspects of comic-making. Each Lab session will incorporate a combination of the theory, instructor demos, and in-class activities designed to quickly get you hands-on experience drawing cartoons and comics in your own style. All skill levels are welcome, and each participant will leave having created their very own comic!
